The Procession
You never travel alone. Mourners, coffins and obligations follow you across every mile. Their pace is your pace.

The Game
A dark fantasy game about the duty of carrying the dead.
Announcement
The plague took the burial grounds first. Now every corpse in the north must be walked south to consecrated earth, and someone has to walk them. You are a Marchwarden: hired, distrusted, and paid in whatever the village can spare.
Gravemarch is a game of slow travel through a country in mourning. You will ration lantern oil, negotiate with priests who no longer believe, and decide which bodies make the journey when the cart is too full. The land does not forget the choices you make on it.
There are no heroes here. There is only the procession, the dark between towns, and the work of getting the dead where they are owed.
Gameplay pillars
You never travel alone. Mourners, coffins and obligations follow you across every mile. Their pace is your pace.
Light reveals the road and reveals you. Douse the flame and the world turns honest, and far less forgiving.
Healing, binding and warding are performed as rituals in the world. Every one of them costs you time you may not have.
Villages record what you did on the way through. Come back later and find the consequences standing in the road.
Combat is slow, committed and legible. A single swing decides more than a dozen ever should.
Six regions, each with its own burial law. Break one and the next village will already know.
